Getting the Marriage Together

Pat and I recently completed our Tobit Marriage Weekend in Indianapolis. We had a great time! Of course, these days, we would never complain to be forced to spend a weekend just talking with each other IN PERSON. We picked up some good tips for married life from the leaders and met some couples from the local St. Joan of Arc church.

Also in the past couple of months we've found a photographer, a dj, and musicians for the ceremony!
Photographer: Brian Doty www.dotyphoto.com
DJ: Brandon Matthews (family friend)
Singers: Alyssa and Lindsey Braun (cousins)
Violin: Alexa Sifuentes
Piano: Holly Repp

But, the best piece of the marriage coming together so far
Pat NO LONGER lives in Alabama!!!!

Pretty Girls in Pretty Dresses

Well the dresses are picked! Cara, Betsy, Laura, Maghan, and Molly will be wearing a simple navy chiffon dress on the big day. (See picture below) Can't wait to see these girls all dressed up!

As for the little girls, the two Lucys will look darling in this flower girl dress. Of course they already look darling in everything!

In the middle of it all

Pat took me out to dinner at Felix's seafood place down in Mobile. It was really nice and awesome food. Anyways we noticed the centerpieces on their tables were wine bottles with a candle stuck in the top and a pretty tile underneath it, so that got us thinking. For our centerpieces I think we will have a couple wine bottles with different shapes or cut into different heights with candles, flowers, and place settings in the top of them or surrounding them. I believe I can utilize my future husband's handyness to get these wine bottles cut. Here are some pictures I found of this used at other people's weddings.

So what do you think? Start saving your wine bottles, preferrably blue and clear ones! Thanks!!

Pictures and Dresses

Pat's mom, Terri, took a few photos of us in their beautiful backyard for engagement pictures.

Also, I found a dress!! My sisters and I went to Cincinnati to the Bridal and Formal store. It had an amazing selection with rows and rows of dresses. Once they let us loose in there we had a variety of dresses to try on in about 10 seconds. I tried on about 12 dresses, with the last one being the winner! It's just what I was looking for with a lot of fabric detail, a sweetheart top, and not too much beading, I LOVE IT! I also found I like the short vail with pretty jeweled details.

My sisters also tried on a few bridesmaid dresses, picture below of my beautiful sister Cara and the dress they found. I love the fabric details and one shoulder strap, but definately NOT the color;)

Here is a link to another style of bridesmaid dress I really like in the marine color:

Date & Reception

Sorry for the delayed posting! However I have good news! We offically have a date! Our wedding will be: OCTOBER 8, 2011 at St. Mary's church downtown. This will give us plenty of time to plan our wedding as well as our MO-AL-IN living situation.

Also last week, my Mom, Terri, and I went all around Indianapolis searching for a reception hall. I think we found it with the Garrison at Fort Ben. It will be plenty big, good food, and a great outside porch. This room is also where my parents had their wedding reception, making it that much better! However we are still looking just in case were missing something, any suggestions are welcome!

Now on to dress shopping......!
